FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE STORYBUILDER METHOD™

Q: What is included in The StoryBuilder Method: Front Yard Friends quilting book?

A: This massive 180-page quilting workbook includes over 95 pages of traceable animal templates, tons of photo examples, flexible block frameworks, mix-and-match character components, and practical quilt-construction formulas to build custom heirloom quilts.

Q: Does this animal quilting book include duck and goose patterns?

A: Yes. The book features the "Front Yard Friends" collection, which includes traceable templates and design ideas for ducks, ducklings, geese, squirrels, woodpeckers, and other neighborhood wildlife, plus scenery components. Also, hats… and shoes... and roller skates… and many other ridiculously fun accouterments to attire your feathered friends in. More friends are being created as we speak!

Q: Is The StoryBuilder Method good for beginner quilters?

A: If you are a beginner, you are incredibly welcome here! Please do note this is not a basic technical guide to quilting mechanics. The method is designed to help you think differently about your creative process—just plan to use it alongside a basic beginner guide, class, or video tutorials as you learn the core technical skills.

Q: How about for those with ADHD?

A: The StoryBuilder Method was initially created to help the author cope with ADHD and still enjoy quilting rather than get burnt out. She wanted to accomplish two things. 1. Keep Quilting as her craft focus, rather than moving on to learning something new (knitting, etc). 2. to be able to work on ONE quilt and complete it, rather than hop between 5 or 6 quilts with different methods in progress in order to stay engaged. She discovered that she could combine all of the techniques she loves, create a wide variety of blocks and styles, use her favorite tricks and tools, move back and forth between hand and machine methods ALL on the same quilt and yet manage to end up a beautiful AND cohesive end product. The bonus being, every quilt she made was beautifully unique. The StoryBuilder Method offers a flexible, highly engaging creative rhythm to keep your focus fresh. Of course, individual responses to the method may vary. But it most certainly changed the life of the author.
